Click below to download pictures from "MSSG RECEIVED: PLS RESPOND," our 2009 Spring Youth Retreat at Camp Don Lee. Lee. The retreat was themed on the premise that youth have a multitude of messages flooding them everyday. Each requires a response, typically perfunctory. However, God has sent us the ultimate "text message" in His Word. How should we respond? How do we connect with Him, make "my space" His space, put Him at the top of our "friends list," and really follow Him?

During "Underground," youth walked through a simulation of what it would be like for them to face some of the religious persecution Christians in other countries face. Youth fled from authorities across 3 churches in 2 counties meeting up to hear messages encouraging them to pursue a faith worth living for. During the first such message, their was an interruption to flee the coming authorities. By session two, the church was invaded and the speaker arrested. Youth were forced outside where the minister's car was aflame and they would later be pulled over at a traffic stop where Bibles were confiscated and chaperones arrested. Further down the road, suicide bombers on several buses converted to a faith worth living for due to the conviction they saw in Christs' followers. The final session included role play situations of day to day persecution in school and home life and a mission to equip believers in other countries.

“Abandon” was an Association Wide Youth Rally at Camp Don Lee where we looked at how the Bible portrays abandoning all for Jesus and how we can make that real in our own lives. Sammy Hudson was our speaker and we had music by the Intersection band and Pocket Full of Rocks. Click here to view pictures from the event.
“Operation InAsMuch is a national initiative for churches to reach out in service to their communities, all on the same day. The event has crossed denominational lines and witnesses to the love of Christ to those who receive and witness this care.
